James Blake/Unicorn Kid

James Blake, one of my favorite artists at the moment alongside Skream has a new EP entitled "CMYK" and it's stunning. Blake creates a mix mash of hissy, scratchy piano sounds while also containing Auto - Tuned vocal samples from R&B artists ranging from R Kelly to Brandy. I'm not a big fan of this Lil Wayne trend but Blake chops, slices and cuts it effectively suiting the slow-paced male/female vocals.

What he creates is almost something like a futuristic dubstep R&B sound. If you like what you here, kop it at Boomkat early May.

One to look out for this year is Unicorn Kid aka Oliver Sabin, an Edinburgh based producer his "Wee Monster" track sounded like something out of European trance music, excluding the stale and cheesyness while adding his own vibrant melodies which I LOVE!

Check out this free download from the Ministry of Sounds a fun filled synthy bassline adventure.
